evgThe Nkawkaw Area Head, Evangelist Robert K. Dentu, on Sunday 13th March, 2016 dedicated the Central church building of Nsuta District in the Nkawkaw Area.

The event drew many dignitaries from afar and near including Honourable Eric Kwakye Darfour (Member of Parliament, Kwahu West), Nana Osei Ameyaw (NPP, Eastern Regional Chairman), Nana Ofori Agyapong (Nsuta Odikro), Nana Amankwa (Amanfrom Odikro) and Nana Onwona Asare (Domeabra Odikro) and his entourage.

Speaking on the topic “Christian Fellowship” at the event with John 13:34-35 as his Bible reference, Pastor E. T. Nanor of Akuajoo District, explained that the main aim for Jesus coming into the world was to bring unity among people and to restore mankind’s relationship with God.

He, however, noted that the devil, who is against unity, is doing everything possible to ensure disunity and divisions persist.

Explaining the term fellowship, Pastor Nanor stated that the word simply means “fellows” (Christians) in a ship (church) sailing on water (world of sin, troubles and death) with the sole aim to get to Heaven.

He noted that since the church is made up of people with different backgrounds, there is bound to be disagreement on some issues, yet that should not bring disunity among members.

“This is because, in order for Christians who are on the ship to sail safely to their intended destination they must love one another,” he noted.

According to the District Pastor of Nkawkaw Nsuta District, Sam Oppong Asare-Duah, the sod-cutting for the church building project was performed in 1993 by Pastor E. K. Kyei when the presbytery realised that the old structure could no longer meet the needs of the increasing church membership.

Work on the project therefore began in earnest with all church members dedicating themselves towards the successful completion of the project. Elder and Deaconess Agyekum, were however, acknowledged for personally bearing the cost of painting of the building.

Aside funds raised by voluntary contributions of the church members, the Local Assembly was privileged to receive an amount of GHS73;13,000.00 as grant from the COP Headquarters to support the project which was completed at an estimated cost of GHS73;675,000.00.

Evangelist Robert K. Dentu gave glory to God for the magnificent building which had been dedicated.  He was very grateful to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, and the Executive Council for their prayers and continuous support to the Area.

He also commended the Pastor Sam Oppong Asare-Duah and the former District Pastors of Nkawkaw-Nsuta; John Kwesi Kudah, Raymond Hagan and G.A. Biney (Rtd), for their diverse contributions to the project.

In all, a total of 550 ministers and members from the Nkawkaw Area attended the programme.
